About Kathy Friend, wardrobe stylist & personal stylist
Since 1998, Kathy has been a PERSONAL STYLIST, helping women and men with their personal image and style as a fashion stylist. This portion of her business is the real heartbeat of her career. The thrill for her is seeing lightbulb moments with women as she offers body type consulting, color analysis, personal shopping, and wardrobe audits. Most recently, Kathy has been able to offer most of her services virtually using Zoom. Of course, she still offers in-person style sessions.
Kathy believes the right pair of shoes WILL change your life. She also believes your clothing is simply an expression of who you are on the inside, and that your style choices are your VISUAL BUSINESS CARD. Her belief is: "Your style is more about how YOU feel than about impressing others. " Kathy's career includes experience working directly with a fashion designer, as a buyer, as the fashion editor for a local magazine, writing for others; appearances on numerous radio and television programs as a Fashion & Style Expert, and authoring several style books. Through Kathy's training with industry experts, she realized there was a gap in resources for wardrobe stylists. In 2013 she founded the Style and Image Institute; an organization that offers affordable, private and real-world training for personal stylists and fashion stylists. Her work and experience was critiqued by industry colleagues and in 2015 she was awarded the prestigious title of Senior Wardrobe Stylist. As a top WARDROBE STYLIST, Kathy has styled looks for celebrities, red carpet events, national and regional campaigns, political candidates, and editorial projects. Her background includes time as an art director with expertise in advertising campaigns. Her discerning eye, natural instinct, and collaborative attitude are highly valued among her clients. Kathy and her team (she lovingly refers to as her "Glam Squad") have styled, held model calls, and produced and managed nearly 100 fashion shows of all sizes in the Midwest. **special thanks to Catherine Melvin Photography for the beautiful photography throughout this website, unless where otherwise noted |
